With sadness, the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Alumni fondly remembers our friend and former teammate William “Biff” Fliss, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21st 2013, at the Middlechurch Personal Care Home in West St. Paul, Manitoba. He was 85.
Biff played fullback for the Blue Bombers from 1949 to 1951, and was inducted to the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 as a member of the 1952 Norwood/St. Boniface Legionaires. He remained an avid Bomber fan until his passing, and was proud to be joined by several of his fellow Alumni members at the dedication of the “Village Pump” Sports Bar at Middlechurch this past July.
A memorial service for Biff Fliss will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg, on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Please click here to read the full obituary that appeared in the Winnipeg Free Press this weekend.
If you would like to pass along condolences to Biff’s family (daughter Allison Farbiak, son Clark Fliss), you are invited to sign the online guest book.
In lieu of flowers, Biff’s family asks that friends wishing to honor his memory do so with a donation to:
