“The Reverend Robert Rumball passed away peacefully on June 1, 2016. Bob played defensive back for the Toronto Argonauts in 1955 and added the title of “Reverend” to his name. He is recognized as the individual who had the greatest impact on the quality of life, human rights and services for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Special Needs community in the past century. His work began in 1955 in a downtown Toronto church and has grown to serve countless people in need across the province.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday June 18 at 7pm at The Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, 2395 Bayview Ave. For those not able to attend on Saturday, there will be a drop in visitation time with friends and family on Friday June 17 from 7pm-9pm.
Kind words and memories can be emailed to bobrumball@bobrumball.org”
